Recycled Seed Pots ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lucy Gardens Kid Gardening Journal May
• recycled seed pots for planting seeds in the garden or starting them of in a warm place or greenhouse can be made from old newspaper
• simply using a large round wooden dowel around which the newspaper can be formed leaving the top open and folding thebottom in to create
A pot shape
• the recycled seedpot can be filled with potting compost or seed compost , watered after the seed has been planted • once the new plant emerges and is strong enough and the weather warms up the whole recycled pot can be planted .. Thus there is minimum disturbance of the roots and the plant can get off to a good healthy start

The Weather is warmer..and we can see the newts from our pond coming out of their winter hiding places …

Whilst Maya was busy diffing up the new bed ready for some vegetable seeds to go in ..this little newt came out all sleepy and ready to take a peek at the daylight

Soon the lonley lizard was joined by a couple of friends, Maya got out a little cloche..turned it into a newt sanctuary so we could watch the little critters for a while … add a leaf and a piece of chipped of bark for a bit of shade and watch the newts play in the water .
